Allocation of Resources to Education

The main funder of education in Israel has always been the government. Since the end of the 1970s, though, with efforts to reduce inflation and reduce the deficit, there have been repeated efforts to cut the education budget and the amount of government spending on education.

This paper appears as a chapter in the Center’s annual publication, Israel’s Social Services 1987-1988. This publication did not appear in English this year.
